On Sunday I popped in to see the throw pillow class in the SWFDS sewing lounge. I was also saying goodbye to my good friends who run Bling Squared.

The throw pillow class looked like it went well and students were happy with the final product.

Next it was time to head over to see Sheila at the sewing lounge. Her first class was using some fabric that I had dyed and discharge printed to create some beautiful infinity scarves. Pictures of the process are shown below. I was really hoping to get some of the students to model their work but everyone seemed a bit camera shy.

Today was a long, somewhat grueling but intensely inspiring day.

I started out by meeting my mentor for the first time at Mink Chocolates. My mentor, Lynn Williams of the Lifestyle Protector is a creative force with so much advice and enthusiasm to offer. I am grateful to have been hooked up with her.

It’s craft season and I’ve been discovering lots of local artisans already taking advantage of digital textile printing. I first discovered Kukubee at the MakeIt Show in November. They’ve printed fabric with Spoonflower to make their “I love the 80s” tote bag (shown above). They also make the cutest little pouches – perfect for any girl to take to school. I really admire the illustration work by Brent. Don’t know where they will be showing up next but you can buy their stuff on Etsy.
